Børn of the Forest is a classroom without walls where children learn from nature, within nature. Our ethos is based upon both the Reggio Emilia and Forest School approaches, and we pride ourselves on offering inclusive, child centred and open-ended provision. We offer woodland play sessions, Forest School sessions, After-school and Holiday clubs, Therapeutic Forest sessions, school / nursery group visits as well as birthday parties and family sessions. We operate from our secure 3.5-acre site in Follifoot as well as from within the woodland sites of local schools. We opened in April 2019 and are now looking for additional staff to support with our increasing demand for sessions

The role is diverse but some of your duties will include…
🌳 To support the Forest School Leaders during sessions. Once confident and fully trained, you
will be expected to lead some play sessions independently.
🌳 To supervise and support clients with varying needs while delivering / supporting sessions.
🌳 To create and maintain an engaging, safe, and supportive environment, demonstrating
flexibility in planning and running sessions in response to varying/changing needs of children.
🌳 To ensure that all sessions are well planned and prepared.
🌳 To be aware of and adhere to all Børn of the Forest’s Policies and Procedures.
🌳 To administer basic first aid as the need arises.
🌳Maintaining a clean and tidy environment, cleaning equipment and reporting any faults to the
Directors in good time.
Hours per week: Hours of work will be negotiable and variable, depending on the requirements of the business. School holiday clubs and family play sessions during school holidays, between the hours of 8.30am and 4.30pm. After school clubs between the hours of 3.00pm and 6.00pm.
Birthday parties and family play sessions over weekends between the hours of 9am and 4pm
Salary: £13 per hour (inclusive of holiday allowance)

🌳 To lead our birthday parties with a very high standard of enthusiasm and engagement,
providing excellent customer service
🌳 To resource and plan ahead of the parties which are age/stage appropriate; consider
children’s interests and are fun, engaging and highly creative
🌳 Have the skills/ability to light a campfire and facilitate marshmallow toasting (training will be
provided)
🌳 To create and maintain an engaging, safe, and supportive environment, demonstrating
flexibility in planning and running sessions in response to varying/changing needs of children
and dynamic risk assessing.
🌳 To be aware of and adhere to all Børn of the Forest’s Policies and Procedures.
🌳 To administer basic first aid as the need arises.
🌳Maintaining a clean and tidy environment, cleaning equipment and reporting any faults to the
Directors in good time.
Hours per week: Birthday parties run over weekends between the hours of 9am and 4pm. Hours will be variable depending on bookings and seasons. The successful applicant must be able to commit to a minimum of one weekend (or 2 weekend days) per month.
Salary: £22 per hour (inclusive of holiday allowance) Level 3 qualified Forest School Leader / £17.00 per hour (inclusive of holiday allowance) Unqualified

🌳 To supervise and support clients with varying needs while delivering sessions
🌳 To ensure that all sessions are well prepared
🌳 Maintain planning records and provide feedback on student progress
🌳 Being open to new ideas, supporting our small but awesome team, being part of the family
Hours per week: Variable depending on organisational needs and applicants availability. Must be available to work after school term time, school holidays and weekends on a rota.
Salary: £17-22 per hour (inclusive of holiday allowance)
